Very nice place to stay and near the centre of Whitby, the hosts was very accommodating and couldn't do enough for you. The rooms were very clean and roomy. Will return next time we stay in the area.

Hi everyone who reads this review, what a fantastic place, close to all amenities, the room which we stayed in was room 6 what a room everything you need, bathroom with shower, lovely bed, tea and coffee facilities, tv.and even off street parking ( bonus) Super clean spotless in fact Hope to stay here again Thank you to Peter and Julie our hosts who were fantastic.

We had a really warm welcome from Julie at her wonderful guest house. The room was well decorated, very spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. The location is great, just a very short walk to the station and loads of local shops, restaurants etc. If / when we return to Whitby we will definitely stay here again.

Wonderful, friendly, and helpful hosts. We arrived at Whitby earlier than expected and couldn't find a parking spot anywhere and the owners kindly let us check in early. The Mainstay is beautiful and immaculately clean with everything you need for night's stay. It is in a perfect spot with just a short walk into the town. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Just returned after two wonderful nights stay..Beautiful room with private terrace. So close to the town centre could watch the steam train from our room. Julie and her hubby were wonderful hosts, gave us info on where to eat and visit, nothing was too much trouble. Room was exceptional and had a wonderful night's sleep both nights. Have already recommended to my family and friends, we will most definitely be returning. Thank you guys xxx⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lovely place to stay with immaculate rooms. Literally a stones throw from the town with the added bonus of parking. Nothing was too much trouble for hosts Peter and Julie. I would definitely come again. I highly recommend the mainstay

Our second trip to Whitby and staying at The Mainstay. The hosts Peter & Julie are wonderful and friendly, also helpful with tips of places to visit and places to eat. Definitely will be back, oh and if your after a no frills breakfast then we can recommend The Singing Kettle just 5 minutes walk from the accommodation.

This is without a doubt the highest level of luxury at the most affordable price! If you’re thinking, I can get somewhere cheaper with breakfast…. Forget it! Stay here in a beautiful comfortable room, the best location and get breakfast at one of the many local cafes!

Just stayed 3 nights here for the Whitby Goth weekend. I have to say that it is one of the nicest places that I have ever stayed in the country. The owners were so friendly and so helpful. Nothing was too much bother. The room was spotless, the bed was so comfy. The location was perfect with less than a five minute walk into town and a one minute walk to the train station. Safe off road parking also was a massive bonus. It made the stay in Whitby perfect and I would definitely stay there again. Highly recommended.

What can I say that hasn't already been said if I could I would give more stars excellent doesn't do it justice this place goes above and beyond. The room was very clean and unique the bed just wrapped round you when you got so comfy and the en-suite very veery clean I couldn't have asked for better. The host Peter and Julie made us fee so welcome and made you feel as tho you were part of the family nothing was too much for them. We will certainly be going back as we feel there is no where better to stay. Thankyou Peter and Julie for making our stay.

Stayed several times over the years and if you are visiting Whitby it is the perfect and most comfortable place to stay that we have found. Very clean and welcoming and close to the central area close to the harbour. Book now, you will not be disappointed 👍🏻👍🏻

Really lovely accommodation and fantastic friendly hosts. This has to be the best b&b in Whitby, it's location is well placed for the centre but it's tucked out of the way and nice and quiet at night time. I can highly recommended staying here and hopefully we'll get a chance to return.

Simply the best B+B that you will find in Whitby, and in my opinion, anywhere else ! The house is perfectly clean, and superbly decorated with top quality fixtures used in every room. The breakfast is unbeatable. A fantastic location in the centre of Whitby. Pete and Julie are the perfect hosts, and cannot do enough for you.

This was undoubtedly the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. Right from the off Julie and Peter were welcoming and helpful, they allowed us to check in early and helped carry the bags up to our room. They also went to the extent of giving us a local tourist map and highlighting all the places of interest in the local area. The whole place was immensely clean, the room was decorated and arranged fantastically, the bathroom was lovely and the view was great. The drink making facilities in the room were top notch and replenished daily. The breakfast was delicious, and they offered a surprisingly large amount of options on the menu. It is situated perfectly and upon leaving the street you are straight into the heart of Whitby. I would definitely recommend The Mainstay as the place to stay if you are visiting Whitby and want to be treated like royalty, utterly superb.
